Questions for Diabetes Coaching
Questions to bring to a diabetes coaching conversation
You do not need to arrive with every question perfectly organized. Start by noting which parts of your existing care instructions are clear and which parts need explanation.
Write down what you want to understand
You might ask: Which instructions should I clarify with my treating clinician? What information would be useful to bring to a coaching discussion? How can I explain the daily routines I find difficult? What kind of coaching support does the practice offer?
Keep the conversation connected to your care team
Bring your current care instructions and medication list if requested. If your treating clinician has asked you to keep monitoring records, ask whether those would be useful. Coaching should support understanding of your existing plan; it does not replace medical review or authorize medication changes.
Ask about the service itself
Confirm who provides coaching, what the sessions include, whether follow-up is available and what fees apply. Ask directly about qualifications or program recognition rather than assuming certification.
Let’s talk about your care
Ask about a service, agency physical or appointment. Call or email us to discuss your next step.
